The opening celebration at Mayberry’s flagship Winnipeg gallery (212 McDermot Ave.) is slated for the evening of March 3, in conjunction with First Fridays in the Exchange.

Celebrating Canadian Women Artists will include some 50 paintings offering an evolutionary view of women artists through the decades and generations, beginning in the 1920s and continuing to the present.

The exhibition presents a unique opportunity to see important paintings from private collections that have not been on public view for decades.

The exhibition can be viewed online beginning March 1at Mayberry Fine Art – Canadian Art Dealers

From coast to coast to coast, Canada’s acclaimed women artists – historical and contemporary -- hail from every region of the country.

The Mayberry exhibition also includes historical works by Molly Lamb Bobak, Maud Lewis, Prudence Heward, Rita Letendre and Sybil Andrews .

Contemporary artists featured include Meghan Hildebrand, Shuvinai Ashoona, Diana Thorneycroft and Gathie Falk, age 95, a former Winnipegger who is one of Canada’s most acclaimed contemporary artists.
