1933-2013
Ted Godwin was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1933. He was a member of the Regina 5, a group of abstract painters based in Regina in the 1950s. He was a frequent participant in the Emma Lake workshops and studied with the likes of Barnett Newman and Lawrence Alloway. Godwin’s paintings are present in preeminent collections like the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario. He was honoured with the Order of Canada in 2004.
