Alan Collier (1911-1990) was a respected Canadian landscape painter and member of both the Ontario Society of Artists and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Inspired by the Group of Seven, he studied at the Ontario College of Art and later in New York City. Collier's work reflects his travels throughout Canada and his experiences as a miner. Known for rich colors and masterful composition, his work is found in collections such as the National Gallery of Canada.
