Caroline Dukes (1929-2003) was a renowned Hungarian-born Canadian painter and installation artist whose profound body of work is deeply connected to Winnipeg, Manitoba. After surviving both the Holocaust and Communist oppression in Hungary, she immigrated to Canada and resumed her artistic training at the University of Manitoba. Themes of memory, loss, and resilience permeate her art, most notably in her acclaimed multimedia installation "Remember…Relate…Retell". A respected member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Dukes' work is found in collections worldwide.
