Hans Albert Hochbaum (1911-1988) was a renowned American-born Canadian bird artist, ornithologist, writer, and conservationist. Known for his influential work on wetland birds and Canadian Arctic wildlife, he authored several popular books, including the award-winning The Canvasback on a Prairie Marsh.
