This painting is basen on a famous photo of Tom Thomson in a canoe along side fellow artist Arthur Lismer. It was painted with a paint loaded spoon and with a giant liner brush made from a newly trimmed horsetail amongst other tools and painted in a de-skilled manner. It is a piece that reflects the essence of my current practice as an artist; a practice of exploration and personal discovery.
